NON INVASIVE OPTICAL ASSESSMENT OF TRAUMA

This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. Using FDPM and other optical technologies, we are looking at the physiological response of the body in response to shock, hemorrhaging, and other critical care injuries. The goal will be to apply rapid and portable optical instruments to critical care for the purposes of (1) detecting the onset of shock earlier (2) provide a means to monitor recovery and treatment.
