The purpose of this research is to examine Asians living in China and Caucasians and African Americans living in the United States to (1) relationships of BMI with diabetes, dyslipidemia and hypertension; (2) relationships of waist circumference and waist to hip ratio with diabetes, dyslipidemia and hypertension; and (3) relationships of BMI, waist circumference and waist to hip ratio with all cause mortality using extent data from the People's Republic of China Study and the Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities Study.
