This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of desferrioxamine on brain flow. Desferrioxamine is a drug that collects iron from the body and is used regularly in people who have to much iron in their blood or those who have low blood counts. It is known that this will increase blood flow to the arm, however testing will be done to determine if it increases blood flow to the brain.
