This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. Research on cancer survivors suggests that weight gain, depression and decreased quality of life continue after the course of treatment has been completed. This exploratory study will compare the effects of self-progressing walking and 5-a-day nutrition educational intervention with standard care (no intervention) on body weight, forearm, waist, and hip circumferences, BMI, depression, NK cell cytotoxicity and QOL.
