Administrative Core

The Administrative Core will remain responsible for the oversight and daily functions of the SPORE programs and provide scientific leadership and administrative support for all of the aspects of the SPORE program. It will continue to provide administrative support for grants and financial management; scheduling of meetings and seminars; coordination of activities between the SPORE, the Cancer Center, and other UCLA academic and administrative bodies; and serve as the liaison and information pipeline to and for all SPORE project and core investigators, board members and committee members. It has ultimate responsibility for the overall management of the budget and appropriate filing of budgetary information. It files progress reports and communicates with NCI, NIH, and outside agencies, as necessary, as well as the UCLA Office of Contracts and Grants. It ensures completion of necessary documents with regulatory agencies. The Core schedules meetings of all the organizational committees and boards and keeps and distributes records of the proceedings and conclusions of these committees. The scheduling, dissemination of information, and organization of the annual UCLA SPORE in Prostate Cancer Symposium, including the participation of the External Advisory Board continues to be the responsibility of the Administrative Core. The Core is responsible for oversight of all the established policies for recruitment of minorities, and also manages the maintenance and updating of the UCLA SPORE web page.
