This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. Outside Participants: Crystal Scientific, Ltd, Warwickshire, UK and Oxford Danfysik, Oxford UK. We have completed construction and installation of the Phase II single-crystal side-bounce monochromator. The Phase II monochromator consists of two cryogenically-cooled crystals of differing cuts (220 and 311), selectable by a single vertical translation. The monochromator is designed to provide a monochromatic beam at either 12.6 or 14.8 KeV with a fixed exit angle of 29.65 degrees relative to the incident beam. In our progress report, we present a description of initial performance testing and installation on the NE-CAT Phase II beam line.
