英文摘要
The Biochemical and Molecular Biology Core Laboratory of this Program Project will provide a
highly specialized team of professional staff, capable of coordinating a variety of assays in a well-equipped facility.
The Core Laboratory will provide Projects I, II and III with the following services:
I. Uniform monitoring of sample parameters levels of anesthetic, gas tension, and pH;
II. Supply isolated cardiac mitochondria, cardiac myocytes from rat and cultured cells and cells
transfected with relevant recombinant cDNAs;
IlI. Biochemical evaluation of mitochondrial energetics, protein kinase C, mitogen-activated protein
kinase and protein tyrosine kinase activity; and
IV. Service for confocal microscopy including mitochondrial flavoprotein fluorescence as well as
immunofluorescence.
Unlimited access to analytical expertise, highly specialized techniques and equipment in a central
facility is absolutely essential to each of the proposed projects. Justification for this Core Laboratory is provided in a listing of the protocols and the number of experiments required for each project. In addition, access is available to a Free Radical Core Facility at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
