This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The INBRE supports a number of biological imaging resources at UNLV and UNR. In previous years, the primary Imaging Core was located at UNLV as a standalone core facility. This year, the management of that resource has been combined with the Central Research Services Core at UNLV. Description and progress and that resource is included in the report for that SPID (26) . During the Spring of 2006, the Administrative Core's Needs Assessment Survey found that investigators at UNR were in need of a similar resource. In anticipation of the acquisition of a new confocal microscope to service UNR investigators, we budgeted for a technician who would support all UNR and UNSOM confocal microscopes and their users. Two Olympus Fluoview 300 and two Olympus Fluoview 1000 confocal microscopes are available as share equipment facilities located at UNR and UNSOM.
