DESCRIPTION (provided by applicant): The aim of this supplemental proposal is to increase our Construction Center's research to practice (r2p) capabilities, through the conduction of the following 4 specific aims: "Specific Aim 1: Design and Conduct a Strategic R2P Review of Completed NIOSH-Sponsored Construction Research (a) Develop a working group with CPWR, NIOSH and OSHA to further develop and implement high priority R2P projects; (b) Identify those research projects with the greatest potential to reduce injury and illness and which have Other strategic impacts through development and validation of a R2P checklist specific to the construction industry, and then prioritize these projects for dissemination efforts. **Specific Aim 2: Disseminate and Promote Research-Tested Interventions (a) Develop and implement dissemination, marketing and/or diffusion plans for those programs, products, interventions and other research results meriting follow-up using process described under Aim 1; (b) Enhance R2P plans of new construction research projects (those currently in the first year of the CPWR-NIOSH cooperative agreement) by creating project-specific R2P "roadmaps." **Specific Aim 3: Build Distribution and Support Capacity: (a) Evaluate existing and potential channels and systems for the dissemination of evidence-based solutions in construction health and safety (through CPWR, NIOSH and others); and (b) develop CPWR's capacity to promote R2P, and make new resources available in order to contribute to a more comprehensive national system for effective information transfer. **Specific Aim 4: Establish Evaluation Measures and Processes: Develop methods and indicators for measuring, evaluating, and enhancing all steps in the R2P process and use results to establish a cycle of continuous quality improvement. RELEVANCE: The aim of this supplemental proposal is to increase CPWR's National Construction Center's capacity to move research findings to practice in the construction industry. Through past research efforts we have identified interventions that have proven effective in improving safety and health conditions in construction, and now need to focus on getting those proven interventions adopted by industry.
