Innovation and evidence to alleviate anaemia worldwide

Anaemia is a critical global health problem which especially effects young children and pregnant mothers, and which has not resolved over recent decades. My work aims to resolve this situation by finding new solutions through a programme of large, innovative randomised controlled trials (set in Malawi and Bangladesh), translational research to understand effects of iron on intestinal health, and policy development and research on definitions of anaemia with the World Health Organisation.
