英文摘要
We identified that mice bred to have high blood pressure (hypertension) have an overactive nervous system due to a faulty molecule in a small region of the brain that controls emotion and the response to stress. The high nervous activity affects a hormone in the kidney that may lead to hypertension. The proposal will determine the mechanisms and neurochemicals in the brain that are responsible for magnifying the responses to stress leading to hypertension and test a new therapy to treat high blood pressure.
