This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the
resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and
investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source,
and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is
for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.
1. To synchronously measure body movements, postures, and energy expenditure associated with different physical activities in adolescents.
2. To develop advanced modeling approaches to transform body accelerations and postures to predict activity-associated energy expenditure.
3. To validate the energy expenditure predictive models in free-living adolescents.
4. To define the role of physical activity in energy balance and obesity in adolescents.
