VITAMIN D THERAPY IN PATIENTS WITH SYSTEMIC LUPUS ERYTHEMATOSUS

This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The purpose of this study is to test the safety and effectiveness of different doses of vitamin D in patients with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE). A long term goal is to determine if vitamin D could be used as a treatment and/or preventative of SLE. Subjects are being asked to participate in this study because they are 18 years of age or older, have SLE, have participated in the SLEIGH study, and have agreed to be contacted for the opportunity to participate in future studies.
