英文摘要
This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the
resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and
investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source,
and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is
for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.
The primary purpose of the ADVN Biomarker Registry Study is to facilitate ADVN clinical research designed to reduce the risk of EV (exzema vaccinatum), a complication of vaccinia immunization that occurs among subjects with AD (atopic dermatitis). Specifically, the Registry will provide ADVN investigators with access to a well-characterized subject pool with a history of or currently active cases of AD, AD with the presence of other conditions, and NA controls. In addition, subjects will be asked to provide a blood sample for evaluation of biomarkers and permission to store the samples to support future analysis.
The primary objective of the ADVN Biomarker Registry Study is:
" To establish a database of clinical and diagnostic information, and biological samples from subjects with previous or current AD with previous or current EH (exzema herpeticum), AD without a history of EH (ADEH-) AD with previous or current EV, AD with current molluscum contagiosum (MC) infection, nonatopic subjects with active MC infection, and NA healthy controls.
The secondary objectives of this study are:
" To assess the relationship between various biomarkers and subject characteristics. The current goals are to use biomarkers to:
-Characterize the degree of Th2 polarization in AD subjects, and to identify whether Th2 polarization is predictive of susceptibility of AD subjects to viral infections (EH, EV, or MC).
-Identify biological surrogates that accurately characterize the clinical severity of AD, and evaluate whether severity of disease is a predictor of these same viral complications.
