This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. This project used high-resolution solid-state nuclear resonance (NMR) to characterize abberrant elastin and relevant elastin mimetics. Work in year 4 has been directed towards the preparation of a competitive R01 proposal, involving both hereditary and environmental factors. In particular, efforts were focused on the gathering of essential preliminary data.
