[Maria Marjorette Pe¿a, Director] The Mouse Core oversees breeding stocks of ApcMin/+ mice and of transgenic and knockout mouse lines, provides help with tissue preparation and analysis, maintains an archive of tissues and slides, instructs investigators in the care and use of animals, and trains personnel in use of all equipment. In addition, the Core helps researchers with the development and planning of animal protocols for approval by the USCs IACUC committee. The Mouse Core includes a dedicated Histopathology Workstation for the analysis and storage of blood data, and for characterization of gross morphology and detailed histology of normal tissues and tumors. It also contains equipment for genotyping animals by PCR.
