This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. This is a proposed myocardial infarction registry. The major goals are: 1. Describe racial differences in 1 year health status outcome. 2. Describe racial differences in acute myocardial infarction care and test whether these differences account for observed disparities. 3. Describe racial differences in serum lipid profiles among diabetic and non-diabetic AMI patients. 4. Determine whether racial differences in genetic variants of the PPAR gene regulatory complex account for observed differences.
