英文摘要
1. We are developing a micro-simulation model to assess the role of luck in determining health and how it affects our views on which health inequalities are unfair. Simulation analyses are free from real-world data constraints as we create data for the analyses and ideally suited to assess how the view of equality of opportunity plays out in a controlled empirical setting.
2. We assessed (un)equal opportunity of health among older adults using the Health and Retirement Study. We are currently refining the analysis to better model influences of childhood and parental factors on the health of older adults.
