英文摘要
Zinc-copper-lead volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) deposits provide a significant proportion of the metals used in the Canadian manufacturing sector and are critical to the economic success of Canada.  The Wolverine volcanic-hosted massive sulphide deposit of the Finlayson Lake district is a newly discovered deposit of this type in southeastern Yukon and will likely enter into production in the next few years.  This project is aimed at understanding the relationship and geometry of the rocks in this deposit in order to reconstruct the ancient undersea volcano that is spatially associated with the Wolverine deposit.  In addition, this project will study the nature of seawater-rock interaction using field methods and chemical analysis of rocks and minerals.  The results of this project will provide tools that will increase our knowledge and ability to search for these deposits both in the Finlayson Lake district, and elsewhere in Canada and the world.
