Photoluminescence equipment for nanophotonic systems

This state-of-the-art photoluminescence system will allow the applicants to study the optical properties of nanoscale components such as nanowires, quantum dots, silicon nanostructures, carbon nanotubes, and periodic metallo-dielectric nanostructures.  These structures are being studied as building blocks in a variety of electronic, photonic, and biological applications. Further advancement of these applications will require detailed analysis of the optical properties of individual nanostructures, which is only possible with the requested infrastructure.  The proposed  system will allow imaging and highly sensitive collection of photoluminescence from nanostructures at low temperatures and with high spatial and spectral resolution.
