英文摘要
Theoretical and computational research is being conducted on the electronic structure of atoms and molecules.  The usual physical picture of a many- electron atom is of electrons moving largely independently under the attraction force to the nucleus and an average repulsive force produced by the electron cloud.  The research being conducted is concerned with improvement on the computational methods for implementing this model.  The work will also be concerned with correlation effects that go beyond this approximate picture. Research is also being conducted on the effects on atomic structure of nuclear transformations such as beta-decay and acceleration of the atom after absorption or scattering of a neutron
