I am requesting funds for one field trip per year over the next five years for two people to either Sawtooth or Cape Bounty Lakes of the Arctic Archipelago. These lakes are located on Ellesmere (Nunavut, 79o20' N, 81o51' W) and Melville (TNO, 74o54' N, 109o35' W) Islands, respectively. Our expeditions will be carried out in close collaboration with P. Francus (INRS-ETE) and S. Lamoureux (Queen's U.) who have maintained research activities at these locations for several years. One of the obvious benefits of our partnership will be to combine their expertise in hydrology, sedimentology and paleolimnology, with mine in geochemistry.
