英文摘要
Tau is a microtubule-associated protein that is abundant in the brain and expressed mainly in axons. Its function is to binding and strengthen the microtubules that constitute the supporting scaffold of the axon. During development tau has more phosphates attached and its composition is different than in the adult brain. To understand the regulation of tau by phosphatases, enzymes that removes phosphates from proteins, we will use two mouse models in which PP1 and PP2A -two main tau phosphatases- are inhibited. We hope that this work will demonstrate that both are implicated in the differential regulation of tau during development.
