The interactions between the geo- and biosphere are central and crucial in environmental research. The relationship between microorganisms and their environment is an example of these interactions. The goal of the proposed research program is to improve the understanding of the mechanisms of biominerals formations and to examine the formation of nano-minerals in the presence of organic molecules of bacterial origin. The proposed research program consists of three parts, and has the following specific objectives:
