The Web and Interent have become the infrastructure for the widespread delivery of bi-directional information services. However, current Web-based technologies for accessing, integrating, mining, visualizing, capturing and storing geo-spatial data (related to geography) and building related applications that access multiple distributed web-based data sources are often complex and costly to use. Complexity and cost imply significant training for the users and restricted availability of tools, thereby limiting the number of individuals who have the expertise needed to capture, analyze and understand geo-spatial data.
