The proposed equipment will help us to precisely quantify changes in cells in the brain using fluorescent microscopy. We will be able to obtain unbiased and precise measures of cell populations, as well as morphometric data on their shapes. In this way we will be better able to map changes in the brain and to determine how different cells are affected by alterations in the availability of different proteins and by changes in their genome.
