The International Linear Collider (ILC) project is expected to be the next world-wide particle physics facility. Its accelerators should collide electrons on positrons at energies from 500 GeV up to 1 TeV. While the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN should discover the Higgs and help understand the origin of mass, the ILC will be essential in extending these discoveries and make precision measurements on the particles, their properties and modes of interactions. The facilities are highly complementary to each other and are both essential in probing and pushing the most fundamental theories of our physical world.
