The objective of this proposal is to develop a rapid and easy to use prototype for the detection of the cysts from the parasite Giardia Lamblia in water using nanogels and ultrasound for selection and detection. This system will in less than an hour, fully automated, with minimal user input and training complete the analysis of a water sample. Currently the approved EPA method takes several days to complete and requires specialized training of the operator.
