This RTI application is to fund an FT Raman spectrometer, as a replacement for an FT Raman spectrometer, purchased in 1994. Raman spectroscopy is a critically important tool for our very strong materials research programs. For studies of condensed matter, Raman spectroscopy is an important fingerprint to characterize materials. Raman spectroscopy also is an important tool to correlate with theoretical understanding of dynamics in materials.
