WindTrans Systems Ltd. has developed a unique pump. WindTrans and parent company Sun-North Systems Ltd. have eight approved patents with two patents being processed. Conestoga will design a prototype testing system to measure the performance of WindTrans' new pump. The designed testing system will employ standard off-the-shelf data acquisition technology, customized mechanical & electrical devices, and full customized software for the recording & analysis of the measured parameters from the pump. The completed system will provide Windtrans a verification tool for the pump's design and performance characteristics for enhancing the design. Conestoga will provide the opportunity, through an applied research endeavour, for a student to apply well-learned techniques to implement a system for improved engineering and manufacturing processes.
