There has been an explosive growth in the mobile device market on a global scale in recent years. Progeny Software Inc., a Nova Scotia based company, which has been building and marketing desktop software products for the past 15 years, has recently made its foray into mobile app development. One of the niche areas that the company is exploring is the evelopment of a novel social networking mobile application on different smartphone platforms. The primary objective of this project is to investigate, design and prototype a novel social networking mobile app for Android platforms. The application, which has been innovated by the company, is targeted towards the female teen demographics. The application involves the integration of face recognition software on mobile platforms and the investigation of touch screen sensitivity detection on smartphones. The company has successfully developed a basic version of the app on iPhone platforms. The goals of this proposal are the following:
