The proposed research combines the expertise of McGill University in advanced computational procedures for dynamic analysis of cable structures, with the experimental expertise of IREQ (Hydro Québec Research Institute) in cable vibration measurements. The goal is to develop, validate and test an accurate modeling procedure to study the dynamic response of flexible guyed transmission towers with due consideration of conductor-tower-foundation-soil interactions.
