Studies in numerical analysis with applications to biochemical systems

My research is in the area of numerical analysis and scientific computing. Specifically, I have a strong background in the analysis and improvement of numerical algorithms from previous computational cost (e.g. exponential) to practical (polynomial) cost. Building on the strong platform of my results for such improvements in the differential algebraic equation solving, I plan to develop and analyze numerical methods for mathematical models of biochemical systems. I shall construct techniques for the efficient and accurate approximation of the solution to the problems under investigation. These methods will lead to improvement of existing software, which will allow scientists to solve more challenging problems than was previously possible and to effectively approximate and interpret the result of their simulations.
