英文摘要
This proposal describes a partnership between Dashwood Cinema Solutions and York University. Dashwood has developed novel hardware and software solutions to improve stereoscopic workflows and processes. Recently they have developed and patented the Stereo3D Cat system, a unique system for guided alignment and calibration of stereoscopic film rigs. The development of improved and efficient methods for camera alignment is important for stereoscopic film production where alignment time can have a significant impact on production budgets and schedules. Alignment is also critical to stereoscopic image quality and poor alignment is associated with viewer discomfort. Improved alignment quality will directly improve 3D film content and produce a more enjoyable viewer experience.
