项目摘要
MorSens Environmental Technology Inc, a Sudbury, Ontario-based company, operates in the field of environmental data collection and distribution. All of its products are based on industry-standard protocols for open access and interoperability. This research collaboration between Cambrian College and MorSens will design and develop a multi-sensor instrument ("sonde") for lakes, rivers, wetlands, and industrial ponds. This remote sensing array will have many functions including: sensors for depth, temperature, oxygen concentration, pH, conductivity, oxidation-reduction potential (ORP), light level, and turbidity. The key to this product's success will be its size despite its functionality however. Even with its built-in, rechargeable batteries, the sonde will only measure 12 cm tall and 2.5 cm diameter. The sonde will be truly innovative as other similar sensors currently on the market are generally 40 cm tall x 5 cm diameter, and do not offer the range of instruments.
