英文摘要
Dr. Michael Brett has developed a process known as Glancing Angle Deposition or GLAD that enables control over the nanoscale architecture of thin porous materials and which has been adopted worldwide by other researchers. Brett's group has studied applications of this process in the fields of photonics, sensing, and energy, has published in leading journals such as Science, and has initiated commercialization with industrial sponsor Micralyne. Fundamental to all applications of this materials nanostructuring process is continued development of the GLAD process. With the proposed research, the Brett group will retain its leadership in innovation and improvements to GLAD, and generate a full nanostructuring toolset suited for commercial use.
