Professor Alexander Moewes and the members of his research group at the University of Saskatchewan employ soft X-ray spectroscopy with synchrotron radiation to answer key questions concerning the structure of new, advanced materials. In this way, they facilitate the creation of further generations of materials with tailored electronic, optical, magnetic, and chemical properties, for use in industrial, medical and electronic contexts.
