英文摘要
The overall goal of our research program is to establish a safety assessment methodology for used nuclear fuel disposal, which has substantial background and principles in engineering, chemistry and mathematics. One of the typical characteristics of groundwater, found in many of the municipalities in Canada who have expressed their interest in hosting a used nuclear fuel repository, is brine. However, sorption of actinides, which is critical in the reliability of the safety assessment of used nuclear fuel disposal, is not satisfactorily understood in brine.
