The wireless technology in Canada is an area of strategic national interest. It is experiencing rapid growth with no signs of slowing down. The market is fueled by increased demand for day-to-day and device-to-device short-range wireless communication. 60GHz band offers a new unprecedented bandwidth in the consumer electronics industry. High data rate, similar to wired-standards, are becoming possible that was not previously available in wireless networks. This allows concurrent short-range video communication with multiple displays. At the same time, micro-technology is being used to pass the limits of the conventional devices and develop superior performance with new functionalities. Microelectromechanical Systems (MEMS) that consists of micro scale mechanical modules offers new capabilities to the electronic devices and systems. They could be employed to advance the physical layer in millimeterwave wireless communication systems. In the
