项目摘要
Brief targeted pulses of rapidly changing magnetic fields can induce localized intracranial currents that in turn excite specific pools of cerebral cortex neurons. Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is the application of trains of targeted magnetic pulses aimed at repetitively exciting specific pools of neurons. rTMS protocols are now being widely prescribed by physicians for the treatment of medication-resistant depressive disorders. Neurogate medical is developing a state of the art integrated transcranial magnetic stimulation system (iTMS) to facilitate and improve current rTMS protocols. This research project will investigate signal processing and pattern recognition algorithms that can be included in the iTMS for the detection of pre-seizure activity present in EEG signals acquired during an rTMS protocol. Detection of such pre-seizure activity will
