项目摘要

Currently heart rate monitors are used outside of the clinical setting both medically to record patient data during everyday activities and in fitness training to help target a healthy level of exercise. However, the medical devices are bulky, and require wet electrodes to establish an adequate signal. The commercial devices have low accuracy especially during subject motion, do not record the signal for later analysis, and provide minimal signal processing for obtaining additional information that can be extracted from the signal. With the advent of dry sensors capable of transducing ECG from many body locations, a wearable device that provides continuous heart monitoring is now possible. We are proposing to develop such a device with onboard signal processing, analysis and data recording so that patients as well as healthy individuals can provide their medical professionals with quantitative data taken from a range of activities during everyday life.
