Advancement of sources and detectors in the terahertz (THz) frequency range, between 300GHz to 3 THz, has allowed access to this previously uncharted region, known as the THz Gap. THz technology is becoming very attractive for imaging, communications, chemical and biological detection. Researchers are beginning to advance the basic knowledge and techniques that are opening up many new capabilities in ultra broad-band connectivity, spectroscopy, imaging, and detection and sensing of chemical and biological materials. In turn, the potential applications of these advancements have generated interests from many industries ranging from communication, security to health science. Towards this goal, the proposed DG proposal aims to contribute to the knowledge base along the following three themes:
