Catalytic chemical reaction processes play important roles in energy and chemical productions and environment protection technologies. The core of a catalytic chemical reaction process is the catalyst. The advances towards more sustainable, more efficient, and more environmentally-friendly chemical reaction processes need edge-cutting scientific research which leads to breakthrough in development of catalyst materials, where better atomically-precise understanding of catalytic phenomena using powerful synchrotron light source is essential. This proposal suggests a few continuing and initiating projects or directions that H. Wang's research group will pursue in the coming 5-year period of time.
