The objective of this research is to contribute to the development of PeCOD technology for its application in the industrial wastewater sector. This instrument uses a nanotechnology-based approach to COD analysis that is both faster and environmentally safer than the conventional test method. Our approach is to use advanced analytical equipment, design-of experiments methodologies, and statistical regression tools to identify the appropriate correlations between the two methods for a range of industrial wastewater sources. We will evaluate the capabilities and limitations of the existing PeCOD technology with industrial 'high load' wastewaters. Also, we will develop a fundamental understanding of the robustness of the technology for water samples that contain biocides and other additives.
