Cell transplantation therapy has emerged as a promising technique for the treatment of many diseases, including type 1 diabetes, and Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases. However, cell transplantation patients still need to receive immunosuppression regimens--which has many negative side effects--to avoid the destruction of the transplanted cells by the immune system.
