ArcelorMittal Dofasco Inc., CanmetENERGY and Carleton University are collaborating to assess the feasibility of a new process to convert organic waste into biofuel suitable for Pulverized Coal Injection for steel production. The process will help with waste management in Canada and produce a green coal alternative that will also serve to mitigate carbon dioxide emissions, contributing positively to Canada's carbon credit. The project is being undertaken by students in Sustainable Renewable Energy Engineering and Environmental Engineering at Carleton University.
