This project aims to invent new measurements and metrics to better assess hockey player performance with a hockey puck. The results of this project could be used to better evaluate the skill level of a hockey player. With the proper evaluation metrics, it would be simpler to devise exercises and activities that correlate with an improved performance with a hockey puck. Having these measurements would allow the creation of a more accurate evaluation of player's skill level with a puck. Moreover, the development of a player's skill level with the puck can be more accurately tracked across time if there is an agreed upon and optimal set of measurements to determine skill level in puck manipulation and shooting. The tests and metrics created by this project aim to give a complete picture of a player's skill level with a hockey puck. This project aims to create the equivalent of the GRE (Graduate Record Examination: a standardized test used by many Canadian graduate schools to assess international applicants) for assessing the skill level of player's puck control and shot ability.
