This project is concerned with conducting a feasibility study of using the Bragg reflection waveguides platform developed in my group as a nonlinear crystal for use in conjunction with Laserglow Technologies. The lasers developed by Laserglow Technologies now would serve as an optimal seed pump for the new products, while the BRW nonlinear crystal developed in my group would serve as a frequency conversion element to generate the light desired by the customers. Together they would provide coherent radiation, which covers an important range of the electromagnetic spectrum that lies between 400 nm and 700 nm. The clients of Laserglow Technologies require lasers in this band for biomedical applications and in particular optogenetics investigations.
