项目摘要
Presently, marine vessels that loose power, either sail or power boats, are at the mercy of the seas. This project
will do preliminary design for a kite-based emergency propulsion device that can be used to self-rescue such a
vessel in distress. The system will be designed to be simple enough to operate by a relatively untrained user,
and able to safely deploy, operate and be retrieved in challenging sea states. It will also be stowable in a
compact form on deck for prolonged periods while remaining fit for service.
