Partner company Advanced Solar Technology Solutions Inc (ASTS) has developed and successfully marketed
a lighting product, the RV Chandelier, in the form of a square frame to surround a standard ceiling window for
mobile homes. ASTS wishes to enter into the more general architectural lighting market. The existing
lighting product uses LEDs and produces light from point sources. While acceptable for the mobile home
market, the architectural market is more demanding and the reduction or absence of point source lighting is
required. By diffusing or spreading the light, the goal of this project is to provide ASTS with a low cost means
of creating attractive and affordable architectural grade lighting strips that allow ASTS to expand the market
for their products. Since LED lighting is a competitive industry a key aspect of this proposal is to minimize the
cost structure of the solution.
